San Teodoro's mountain is called Monte Nieddu, whose highest point, Punta Magghjóri, is 970 metres above sea level.
The granite massif of Monte Nieddu is protected by Sardinian Regional Law no. 31/1989, which establishes areas of particular natural and environmental importance. Monte Nieddu dominates the San Teodoro plain and part of the Gallurese coast... an extraordinary opportunity for quality ecotourism for lovers of trekking and canyoning among waterfalls and natural pools, or mountain biking along the old coalminers' paths.
Monte Nieddu will captivate you at every step: forests of holm and cork oaks, spectacular waterfalls that plunge into large natural pools, granite pinnacles shaped by the Mistral, but above all a truly captivating and evocative panorama.
From panoramic viewpoints such as Punta Magghjòri (970 m.), Punta Lu Casteddacciu (828 m.) or the lookout point at Punta Pala di Monti (615 m. ), you can enjoy a panorama of rare beauty: on one side, the coastline, where you can see La Cinta and the lagoon, and the promontory of Capo Coda Cavallo with the outline of the islands of the marine protected area as far as Capo Figari; on the other, the hinterland with the Padru plain and Olbia and, in the distance, Mount Limbara.
The silence of the mountains, the peace of nature, the ancient civilisation of the ruined stazzi amidst the Mediterranean scrubland, the hawks circling along the steep gorges: here, holidays never cease to amaze.
